Que pensez-vous de l'avenir de la langue française dans votre pays et dans le monde ? Est-ce que le français est capable de retrouver ses périodes de gloire ?

Salut chers francophones de TIG,

C'est avec plaisir que je vous pose une question que je voulais débattre avec vous depuis longtemps et enfin l'opportunité se présente à nous tous le prochain samedi 31 janvier à 9h GMT (14 h au Québec) pour discuter de cette question cruciale pour tous les francophones et francophiles puisqu'on parle français depuis notre enfance même si ce n'est pas toujours notre première langue mais on est fier de l'avoir appris à l'école et d'être membre de la grande communauté francophone mondiale.

Donc, que pensez-vous de l'avenir de la langue française dans votre communauté, pays mais surtout dans le monde ?

On veut savoir vos opinions.

Pour ma part, je pense que la langue française est quand même menacée par l'émergence de nouvelles langues surtout en Afrique et surtout par le succès de l'anglais au détriment d'autres langues comme le français. Mais je pense que en faisant des concours spécialement pour promouvoir le français, en organisant des événements comme la Dictée des Amériques et le Sommet de la Francophonie auxquels j'ai participés, et en octroyant des bourses d'échange pour vivre un ou quelques mois dans des pays francophones, ces efforts peuvent redonner l'espoir au français, voire lui redonner sa gloire.

Enfin, il y a un auteur Louis-Jean Calvet qui a écrit un texte: Approche sociolinguistique de l’avenir du français dans le monde que je trouve intéressant et je veux savoir vos commentaires aussi, visitez : http://www.cairn.info/revue-herodote-2007-3-p-153.htm et partagez avec nous vos réactions !

Je viens de trouver aussi un site web sur les archives de la chaîne Radio-Canada, et j'ai eu du plaisir à voir des vidéos qui datent des années 60 (il n'y avait pas de télédiffusion avec couleurs bien sûr) et de connaître l'attachement des québécois incluant les néo-québécois au français mais surtout de leur lutte pour préserver cette langue (manifestations, loi 101, ...)

«MOMENTUM : Mission, Passion, Expression» est un magazine jeunesse accompagné d'un site web qui permet aux cofondateurs et à l'équipe de bénévoles du projet de recevoir les soumissions (articles, poèmes et opinions) des jeunes de partout dans le monde. Les cofondateurs de ce projet sont Yassir El Ouarzadi et Ilyes El Ouarzadi, deux jeunes lauréats provinciaux de la Bourse d'entrée du millénaire. Ces jeunes leaders ont tous les deux participé au programme de leadership et d'entrepreneuriat Shad Valley ainsi qu'au Congrès Mondial des jeunes 2008 et à la Dictée des Amériques et qui désirent, grâce à ce projet, donner l'opportunité à des centaines, voire des milliers de jeunes du Canada et d'ailleurs, de vivre de telles expériences qui pourront changer leurs vies.

En tant que coordinateur de l'engagement des jeunes et coordinateur virtuel avec Liaisons Locales Canada depuis janvier 2008, les cofondateurs de ce projet ont rencontré, à maintes reprises, plusieurs jeunes leaders motivés à faire la différence et à passer à l'action que se soit dans leurs communauté locale ou globale. Cependant, l'obstacle majeur empêchant ces jeunes de concrétiser leur rêve était le manque de ressources pertinentes qui leur permettraient d'avoir un objectif clair à matérialiser (MISSION), une passion qui les animerait à être des agents de changement (PASSION) et enfin une plate-forme à travers laquelle ils peuvent exprimer leurs objectifs et leurs passions (EXPRESSION).C'est du désir de combler ces lacunes que le projet MOMENTUM a vu le jour en 2008.

Le magazine ainsi que le portail web seront disponibles en français et en anglais et leurs objectifs sont : - Donner aux jeunes l'occasion de partager leurs expériences, réussites, échecs et trouver ensemble des solutions aux problèmes qui touchent les jeunes.- Un magazine et un portail internet pour que les jeunes puissent échanger entre eux sur des problématiques mondiales notamment le réchauffement planétaire, la réalisation des OMD et la lutte contre la pauvreté et l'analphabétisme.- Donner aux jeunes canadiens l'occasion de rencontrer d'autres jeunes leaders des autres pays pour participer à un dialogue interculturel.

Maybe you are wondering what is MOMENTUM Project ?" MOMENTUM: Mission, Passion, Expression " is a youth-led magazine with a Website which allows the co-founders and the team of volunteers of the project to receive the submissions (articles, poems and opinions) of youth from all around the world. The magazine as well as the Websites will be available in French and in English and their objectives are:
- To give the young people the opportunity to share their experiences, success, failures and to find together solutions to the problems that affect them as youth.
- A magazine and official websites like http://momentumweb.ning.com, so that the young people can discuss about the most important issues and problems in today's world especially global warming, MDGs and the fight against poverty and ignorance.
- To give the young Canadians the opportunity to meet other young leaders from other countries and participate in an intercultural dialogue.

The IYPF consolidated its developments in the 2006/2007 financial year and continued to implement its new strategic plan over the course of 2007/2008.

Overall, we continue to build and resource a global network of young professionals who are creating a better world for current and future generations through local and global action:
• Facilitating conversations and information sharing between young professionals that informs and inspires them to take action on important local and global issues through online communities, newsletters, blogs, publications, and presentations.
• Running projects that facilitate youth and young professional led social change, e.g. the Blueprint Project, to nurture youth entrepreneurship; the Youth & Sustainable Communities project to develop young sustainability leaders
• Assisting young professionals to start and run successful community projects and local events
• Convening regular international summits of young professionals, i.e. 3rd IYPS in Manchester, UK in August 2008

In the 2007 / 2008 Financial Year the IYPF had 4 major sources of income:
1. Membership payments from young professionals
2. Interest on accounts
3. The otherWISE project
4. The Foundation for Young Australians Youth Change Maker grant

The Youth Change Maker grant was receipted and expended over the course of the financial year. The otherWISE project income and expenditure delivered a slight loss on our operations. Overall, the Foundation recorded a slight loss ($695), which was a significant improvement on the previous year (loss of $2213). Significantly, membership income increased ($803 compared to $54) and overall revenue increased from $1804 in 2007 to $15008 in 2008. The end of financial year loss reduced our equity to $6927 moving in to the new financial year.

The principal activities of the year remained focused around the Company’s objectives:
• To promote and encourage the work done by young professionals in effecting positive global change.
• To facilitate the implementation of projects developed by members to address the issues of concern in the global community, which are consistent with the objects of the company, including the raising of funds where necessary.
• To further the networks formed during the International Young Professionals Summit 2001 and provide an ongoing platform for organisation and convening of future events and Summits and projects.
• To promote recognition of, mobilise and enhance the capacity of Young Professionals internationally to provide leadership and take action on global issues
• To undertake research and advocacy in regards to issues identified by members as vital to the
creation of a preferred global future.

The IYPF continued to pursue its vision and mission:
• VISION - A global community of young professionals creating a better world for current and future generations through local and global action
• MISSION - Informing, inspiring and equipping young professionals to change their world for good.

Much of the second half of the financial year focused on organising the 3rd International Young Professionals Summit, the IYPF’s flagship international conference. This event was held in Manchester, UK, in August 2008.

Convening the International Young Professionals Summit 2008 drained all of the IYPF’s human and financial resources, as well as leading to a complete rethinking of the IYPF’s operational goals and activities.

Over the course of the 2008/2009 financial year, the IYPF will need to:
• develop a new strategy
• engage a new leadership team
• focus on significant fundraising activities to secure operational revenue

A number of developments will likely impact on operations in future years:

(a) The IYPS 2008 in the UK may have important tax and income implications for the IYPF, i.e. overseas income. The Board and executive will need to research – and possibly engage some expert opinion – in regards to the impact of these activities on income tax exemption assessments.
(b) A new focus on engaging young professionals in the Millennium Development Goals between now and 2015 will require a rethinking of strategy and a different operational emphasis

As you know, Al Gore who used to be the Vice-President of the USA started a big environmental movement or what I call a Green Movement all around the world.

The Climate Project (TCP) is one of his projects and environmental initiatives and its aim is to increase public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level in the United States and abroad.

TCP initiatives have resulted in the training of hundreds of equally committed individuals in Australia, Canada, India, Spain, and the UK. TCP's 2,500 presenters have reached a worldwide audience of more than 4 million people. Santiago Alba, Action Contre la Faim


Santiago est directeur technique et de recherche d’Action Contre la Faim Canada. Titulaire d’une maitrise en agriculture et en développement rural de l’Université Cornell (Etats-Unis), d’une autre en audit environemental et d’un Baccalauréat en ingénierie agricole de l’Université La rioja (Espagne), il a travaillé dans le développement rural et sur les enjeux environnementaux en Europe. Ensuite il est parti effectué un travail de terrain en Afrique et a travaillé avec la section espagnole de l’International AIDS Agency et des fondations privées sur des processus de réformes locales et de développement des capacités. Avant d’occuper son poste actuel à Action Contre la Faim (ACF), il a travaillé au sein de l’Institut de Développement Africain à l’Université Cornell.
Au cours de ces 14 dernières années, le parcours académique et professionnel de Santiago l’a conduit à se concentrer sur l’évaluation et la gestion de programmes de développement rural durable.

Il est actuellement membre du Groupe des Directeurs techniques et apporte son soutien au Conseil Scientifique de l’AFCIN. Il coordonne des projets et des recherches sur des sujets tels que la nutrition, l’eau et les systèmes sanitaires, la sécurité alimentaire et les changements climatiques.


Amélie PANNETON, Carrefour Tiers Monde

Amélie Panneton, 22 ans, agente d'éducation à Carrefour Tiers-Monde
Après un stage de trois mois en théâtre d'intervention au Pérou, elle a été responsable des activités d'éducation pour Intermon Oxfam à Vitoria-Gasteiz en Espagne. Détentrice d'un baccalauréat en études internationales et langues modernes, elle travaille à Carrefour Tiers-Monde dans le domaine de la sensibilisation et de l'éducation au public, et s’'intéresse particulièrement aux enjeux liés au commerce équitable, à la souveraineté alimentaire et à l'économie solidaire.


Amélie CHARBONNEAU, Carrefour Tiers Monde

Âgée de 22 ans, Amélie CHARBONNEAU est étudiante au baccalauréat en Travail social. Elle travaille comme stagiaire au sein de Carrefour Tiers-Monde comme.
Dans le cadre, des Journées Québécoises de la Solidarité Internationale, elle est en charge du volet jeunesse. Elle rencontre des jeunes du
secondaire pour parler des enjeux relatif à la souveraineté alimentaire.
Elle s’intéresse beaucoup aux enjeux internationaux tels que la pauvreté, l’environnement, la prévention du VIH/SIDA…car elle considère qu’ils nécéssitent qu’on y apporte des solutions globales. Elle est également engagée dans la lutte des femmes.

The Secondary Schools' United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) is Canada's premier high school conference, bringing together over 1000 students from around the globe. It is held November 6th-9th, 2008, at the Delta Centre-Ville hotel in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. (visit: http://ssuns.org/aboutus/welcome.php?menu=1)

Today was really an amazing one ! During the morning, I prepared the presentation depending on my exceptional audience: a youth committee of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Here is a description of the UNEP, many thanks to Mahak Jain, Director of Public Relation with SSUNS, for sending me this valuable information and thanks also for requesting a TCP presentation for the UN delegates coming together to Montreal this year:

Established in 1972 through the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the designated body for the discussion of all environmental issues. Notably, the UNEP often works jointly with and/or funds environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs). From encouraging sustainable development, creating international environmental conventions, helping countries and regions deal with natural disasters and climate change, the UNEP plays a crucial role in both the protection of ecosystems and in promoting environment-related development.

This session of the UNEP at SSUNS 2008 focused on some of the more imminent issues involving the environment today. It discussed ways to manage natural disasters at the local, regional, and international levels. It looked also at the ongoing climate change as leading to a global food crisis and present possible solutions. Thirdly, it looked at how agriculture degrades the environment and offer possible ways rectify existing damage and prevent future problems.

The Committee Topics, this year, were:

As a Climate Project Volunteer Presenter (see The Climate Project Canada: http://www.climateprojectcanada.org/ or The Climate Project -international page-: http://theclimateproject.org/), I did many presentations in the province of Quebec, in Montreal and in Quebec City during the World Youth Congress 2008 and I hope to organize other ones in Morocco and in other countries as well.

My first presentation was for BNP Paribas, it was in French and it went very well, all the participants were enthusiastic, asked many questions and appreciated the content of the presentation especially the solutions for corporations and individuals in terms of housing, transportation and food.

Today, it was different for may reasons: it was my first English presentation, my first presentation related to a UN programme which is the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), my first presentation to more than 50 bright and dynamic students, my first presentation to an international delegation (UN delegates from Saudi Arabia, USA, Canada, Niger, Monaco, Russia, Bangladesh, Bahamas, Korea, Morocco, Tunisia, Netherlands, Somalia and other countries) and it was the very first presentation where I had a lot of enthusiasm and many questions from the participants.

The Climate Project, a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, TN, began operations in June 2006 with the mission of increasing public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level in the United States and abroad. By April 2007, a diverse group of 1,000 volunteers from throughout the U.S. had been trained by Al Gore himself to present a version of the slide show featured in the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth.

Félicitations aussi à tous ses partisans et au monde entier puisqu'il a scandé haurt et fort, tout au long de sa campagne, qu'il voulait devenir le président de tous les américains et le président d'une superpuissance qui contribuera à la résolution des conflits mondiaux, citons les changements climatiques, la concrétisation des OMD, la lutte contre la pauvreté, l'égalité hommes femmes et la lutte contre le racisme.

Bref, son message reflète le changement que la quasi-totalité des gens, jeunes et vieux, hommes et femmes, pauvres et riches, noirs ou blancs, désirent voir se réaliser, c'est un espoir de contribuer au progrès de l'humanité.

Enfin, il est président dans une situation mondiale et américaine relevée de défis, de problèmes notamment la crise économique, 2 guerres à gérer en plus des réformes sociales comme l'assurance médicale !
